Victory Flail Mowers: Unmatched Quality and Performance

Flail mowers are an essential tool for maintaining parks, gardens, roadsides, ponds, agricultural fields, commercial properties, and residential landscapes. They use a rotating drum with blades that flail against vegetation, effectively cutting through thick grass, weeds, saplings, brush, and brambles. Victory Tractor Implements offers a wide range of flail mowers, designed to work with CAT I & CAT II tractors ranging from 15 to 100+ HP.

Unbeatable Selection and Versatility

Victory mowers come with features like offset, embankment, and mulching capabilities, and mowing widths range from 40″ to 114″, with extensions reaching up to 134″. Where regular mowers fail, Victory flail mowers excel, reaching areas inaccessible to conventional mowers, with state-of-the-art features such as hydraulic rear gate and crash protection. Our embankment mowers feature a hydraulic swivel arm for operation from -55 degrees (for ditches) to +90 degrees (for hedges).

Delivery, Unboxing, Assembly and Operation

Our delivery carriers call ahead to schedule a day and time for offloading that works for you. Victory flail mowers arrive mostly assembled to get you up and running in no time. Just install the swing arms, cylinders, hoses, and 3 point hitch mount and you’re on your way. We offer models with and without hydraulics to ensure compatibility with your tractor and smooth operation.

Frequently Asked Questions (Flail Mower FAQ)

What is the Cheapest Flail Mower?

Looking for the cheapest flail mower without compromising on quality? Our EMSD Series is the most affordable option, perfect for small to medium landowners looking for a reliable, cost-effective solution.

How High Can a Flail Mower Cut?

Our flail mowers are designed to offer precise cutting heights, with most models allowing adjustments from as low as 1 inch to up to 3 inches, ideal for managing overgrown fields and maintaining a consistent grass height.

When to Use a Flail Mower?

Flail mowers are ideal for handling dense vegetation, such as overgrown grass, bushes, and vines. If you need a versatile machine to maintain rough, uneven terrain or clear roadside ditches, a flail mower is the best choice. Check out our Flail Mower Compatibility Tool to find the best fit for your tractor.

What is the Best 3-Point Flail Mower?

Victory’s best-selling 3-point flail mower is the EMID-70 model, designed to handle large fields, ditches, banks, and rough terrain with ease. Its robust design ensures efficiency, even in the toughest mowing conditions.

What Size Flail Mower Do I Need?

Choosing the right size flail mower depends on your tractor’s horsepower and the area you need to mow. For small properties, a 4-foot mower works well, while larger properties benefit from a 7-foot or wider model.

Ensure your tractor’s 3-point lift capacity is sufficient to support the weight of the mower and that you have enough hydraulic ports to accommodate horizonal and vertical movement of the mower (when applicable).

For ditch bank mowers, the general rule of thumb is that the mower should weigh no more than 30% of the total weight of the tractor, including front end loader and ballast.

Last but not least, make sure to note whether your 3 point hitch is suited for category 1 (CAT I) or category 2 (CAT II) implements.

What are the Benefits of a Flail Mower?

Flail mowers offer many advantages, including their ability to cut dense vegetation, provide a fine, even cut, and minimize debris throw—making them safer for roadside and residential use. Most prefer the quality of the flail mower cut compared to a brush hog, which tends to leave large clumps of material. Learn more by reading our blog post comparing flail mowers and brush hogs.

What is the Best Flail Mower for the Money?

For those looking for the best flail mower for the money, our EMID Series strikes the perfect balance between performance and price, offering robust features at a competitive cost.

Are Hammer Blades or Y-Blades Better?

Ultimately, this comes down to personal preference, but at Victory, we prefer hammer blades due to their ability to cut a wide range of grasses, brush types, and woody materials without requiring multiple passes. All Victory flail mowers are equipped with hammer blades. Learn more by reading our blog post comparing the differences between hammer blades vs. y-blades.
