ed a flail mower, but this thing beats a rotary mower hands down. The learning curve is short, and I'll need to add a variable valve to my rear remotes to slow down the actuation of the flail hydraulics, but overall I'm very happy with this. A few points to note: The suggested PTO is quite conservative, if you're near the limit, you could go bigger without too much worry (now i wish i had got the bigger size!). The flail comes in several pieces and needs putting together, and the instructions aren't great, but very doable. You'll need to check every bolt (and i mean every bolt) and grease all the zerks, and fill the gearbox with a quart of oil (hello liqui-moly!) but that's not a big deal if you have a farm or homestead. The hydraulic fittings are ISO-A type and i did shear off a banjo bolt attaching the hydraulic hose to the cylinder - its a 1/2 BSPP thread - go figure. Found a replacement on ebay and I was back in the game. Long story short - this is an inexpensive flail that knocks the socks off a rotary mower for about the same price. 5 stars for value!

transit and one side of the product was resting on the floor of the trailer, which made it a little difficult to unload. No damage was done. Machine works well but is borderline too heavy for my 35 Hp Yanmar and almost stalls out the engine when first engaged. Also, it looks like I will need a small porta-power to slide the unit from side to side. It is very robust and cuts well so far. Probably should have ordered a smaller one but I was told that my tractor would handle it.

work immediately. Make no mistake this is not a "light duty" implement. The engine is over 750 cc's and although the horsepower rating is high it's the torque of the v twin engine that makes this mower so effective. It destroyed the brush that I needed to level. The only honest concern is I would caution it's use on small atvs due to it size.. Anything less than a 250 I would opt for a smaller unit.. use caution when operating this machine because it will destroy anything in it drives over.. it is the real deal.
