The TRIM-56 Light Duty Flail Mower delivers versatile cutting performance for light-duty vegetation management on medium-sized properties. Designed for compact tractors with 30-55 PTO HP, it features a 56-inch cutting width and a maximum side extension of 84 inches from the tractor’s centerline to the outermost cutting edge. Its vertical rotation range of -50° to +93° makes it ideal for vineyards, orchards, and hobby farms.
This mower includes a dynamically balanced rotor shaft for smooth operation and reduced vibration. The high-strength cast-iron gearbox with a built-in freewheel ensures consistent power transfer. Equipped with 20 forged steel hammer blades, each with a cutting surface of 3 inches per blade, the TRIM-56 efficiently mulches grass and light brush up to 1 inch in diameter.
Adjustable skids and a rear roller with a self-cleaning scraper ensure precise cutting height control, while CE-compliant protective shrouds enhance operator safety. Backed by a 2-year warranty, the TRIM-56 is a reliable solution for light-duty mowing needs.

I was a little hesitant at first, never having owned a flail mower, but this thing beats a rotary mower hands down. The learning curve is short, and I’ll need to add a variable valve to my rear remotes to slow down the actuation of the flail hydraulics, but overall I’m very happy with this. A few points to note: The suggested PTO is quite conservative, if you’re near the limit, you could go bigger without too much worry (now i wish i had got the bigger size!). The flail comes in several pieces and needs putting together, and the instructions aren’t great, but very doable. You’ll need to check every bolt (and i mean every bolt) and grease all the zerks, and fill the gearbox with a quart of oil (hello liqui-moly!) but that’s not a big deal if you have a farm or homestead. The hydraulic fittings are ISO-A type and i did shear off a banjo bolt attaching the hydraulic hose to the cylinder – its a 1/2 BSPP thread – go figure. Found a replacement on ebay and I was back in the game. Long story short – this is an inexpensive flail that knocks the socks off a rotary mower for about the same price. 5 stars for value!
